As a Sheringham photographer my services include head shots, portraits, family photo shoots and model portfolios. I also love to photograph coastal landscapes of Norfolk sold as wall art.
About Sheringham
As a local landscape photographer who loves the coast, I regularly get the opportunity to visit Sheringham. It has a traditional high street with a variety of local shops, restaurants and public houses. Furthermore the town has an award winning beach with lots of fishing boats.
Sheringham is the start of the North Norfolk Railway. “The Poppy Line” is a privately owned railway with several steam trains that run for several miles to the charming historic market town of Holt.
The Morris dancing “Potties Festival” and carnival are popular annual events. The photographs below are examples of what you can find in this lovely seaside town.

Whilst Sheringham does have a sandy beach ideal for sunbathing it also has shingle beaches. As shown above, you will find colourful fishing boats. The beach is also an ideal backdrop for a family photo shoot.
A trip on a steam train on the North Norfolk Railway to Weybourne and Holt is a must when you are visiting the town. The railway stations take you back to a bygone age and they much used by photographers, videographers and as film set.
For much of the year diesel trains run with the steam trains. However at peak times steam trains run all of the time. However during hot summers, steam trains can cause heath fires and as a precaution diesel trains are run as a replacement.
The Potties Festival is an annual event. Here Morris Dancers from all over the country and from abroad dance in some key locations. Some groups are all men, some are all women and some are a mixture of both. The costumes are often very colourful and the folk music is very entertaining. There is often much drinking as well as dancing and a very friendly atmosphere.
The Carnival Queen and her attendants
The carnival is an annual popular event supported by the locals where the trophies are presented by the Carnival Queen. The Carnival Queen and her attendants also participate in the Cromer Carnival a much bigger event held every August. Cromer, a real gem on the Norfolk coast is the neighbouring town and there is often lots of competition between the two.
Also worth a visit is the market town of North Walsham. It is on the Bittern Line, a railway track that runs between Sheringham and Norwich. Two other nearby towns are beautiful Holt and the market town of Aylsham.
